Justin CatesJustin Cates

Justin Cates, a graduate of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business and The Art Institute of Atlanta, is a Business Partner with his father, Norm Cates, and is the President and Assistant Publisher of Club Insider.

Justin's career in the health and fitness industry actually began years ago, as he spent his younger years growing up in the health and fitness clubs owned and operated by his father. After Mr. Cates made his transition to publishing Club Insider in 1993, Justin followed, helping out with various tasks over the years.

Throughout college, Justin knew his future was to help others in this great industry by becoming a more integral part of Club Insider. That vision inspired him to study the company his father built from the ground up, and after a year of research, Justin's effort culminated with his Senior Thesis laying out the long-term future of the company. Justin now manages several key areas of the company, implementing that ever-evolving plan.

Cherry Creek Athletic Club
The Evolution and Success of One of Denver's Premier Athletic Clubs

February 2017 - Change... Improvement... Evolution... It can go by any of these names. And, possibly even more so than in the general business world, within the health and fitness club industry, those who earn success do so by constantly changing, improving and evolving their craft. A classic tale of this approach, which we have documented in Club Insider numerous times, is that of Red Lerille, Owner of the world-renowned Red's, located in Lafayette, Louisiana. Even small changes, in aggregate over time, can create an entirely new identity for a business.
