Norm Cates, Jr. is the Founder of Club Insider, now in its 30th year of publication, and its Tribal Leader Since 1993. He is a 50-year veteran of the health, racquet and sportsclub industry. As IHRSA’s First President and a Co-Founder of the Association with Rick Caro and five others, in 1981; the 2001 DALE DIBBLE Distinguished Service Award winner, one of IHRSA’s highest honors; and Club Industry's Lifetime Achievement Award winner in 2017, Norm Cates, Jr. is a highly decorated veteran who cares about you. August 2016 - Hello Everybody! This is your Club Insider Publisher and Tribal Leader Since 1993 checking in with our 272nd monthly edition! We're getting excited around here because, in October, we'll celebrate the 24th Anniversary of Club Insider's founding and launch at the Club Industry Show in Chicago! I spent three days at the 1993 Club Industry Show handing out our 1st edition. It was a tiny little 12-page edition in which I shared what we were going to do with Club Insider, and essentially, I told those Founding Readers that I was going to "Tell-it-like-it-is." We've dedicated ourselves to doing that since day one. So, to ALL of you out there who've been with us from the start by subscribing to and reading Club Insider, including those of you who're reading Club Insider for the first time ever... we can't Thank You enough! Norm's Notes for August 2019
August 2019 - Let's all PRAY for America! Folks, I'm changing the format of this month's Norm's Notes by leading off with the suggestion that all of us pray for America! Now! The mass murders in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio made it very clear that our beautiful America has become a place of danger for all of us. How very, very sad that fact is. IF you believe in God Almighty, like I do, I beseech you to say a prayer now for all those killed and injured, and not just for the folks in El Paso and Dayton, but way back to the beginning of this sick mania years ago. And, we should pray for help from the good Lord to change the direction our great country is heading. The answer will not be easy to find, but maybe with God's help, we can find it. Now, like all of you reading this, I'm going to press on with life with the sincere and deeply heartfelt hope and prayer that God will help our great country, our great America. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
